Dear friends of Synnika e.V.,
SAVE THE DATE: Our next exhibition »Internal Review« by Oliver Hardt
will open in one month, on Saturday, 14 February 2026 at 6 pm. Find the
press release on our website at:

How fragile are cultural institutions when political power intervenes?
In his first solo exhibition »Internal Review«, artist and filmmaker
Oliver Hardt examines the consequences of state intervention using the
example of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History
and Culture (NMAAHC) in Washington, D.C. Building on his documentary
film ›The Black Museum‹ (2018), which traces the long history of the
NMAAHC's establishment, the exhibition »Internal Review« links
historical struggles for visibility with contemporary authoritarian
interventions. In this context, architecture appears not only as a form,
but also as a catalyst for socio-political change and resilience.
CLOSING SOON: We would also like to draw your attention once again to
the final day of the current exhibition »NONFERENCE«, showcasing works
by Lars Karl Becker, Lain Iwakura & Jeronimo Voss, Stylianos
Papavasiliou, Martin Stiehl, and Clara Wildberger. The exhibition will
be open this Friday, 17 January, from 3 to 9 pm. Starting from 7 pm, the
official closing will feature an electronic live improvisation by the
infamous Members of Payday.
We would be very happy to see you on one or both occasions!
